Commission a Piece
Most of the best things to leave the studio started as somebody else's idea. A dog on a decanter. A pair of pheasants for a particular wall. Six champagne flutes for a wedding, each with a different bird. If you've something in mind, this is how it works.
1. Send your idea or photographs
Use the contact page or the chat button. Tell me what you're thinking, roughly what size or what type of glass, and send any photographs that help. For pet portraits, a clear, well-lit photo at the animal's eye level works best. It doesn't need to be a fully formed plan.
2. We agree the format and price
I'll come back to you with suggestions, a price and a realistic timescale. Pet portraits on glass start from £85; original paintings depend on size and subject, and I'll quote before anything starts.
3. Pay the agreed deposit
Once we're happy, I'll send you a private payment link for the deposit (usually half). Nothing is booked in until then, and nothing is painted without your say-so.
4. I make the work
Glass is painted by hand and kiln-fired. Paintings are usually acrylic on hessian or canvas. I'll send progress photographs along the way if you'd like them.
5. Approval, final payment and delivery
You'll see the finished piece before it's sent. When you're happy, I'll send the link for the balance, then pack it properly and post it tracked, or arrange collection from the studio if you're local.
A note on personalised pieces
Because commissions are made to your specification, they can't be returned for a change of mind in the way stock items can. If anything arrives damaged or isn't what we agreed, tell me straight away and I'll put it right. Full details are in the returns policy.
