Privacy Policy

This shop is run by Jack Fetherstonhaugh, trading as Jack Fethers, from North Wales. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use jackfethers.com, why, and what we do with it.

What we collect

  • Order information: your name, delivery and billing addresses, email address, phone number and payment details (payment card details are handled by Shopify Payments and other payment providers; we never see your full card number).
  • Contact and commission information: anything you send us through the contact form, chat or email, including photographs you send for pet portraits or commissions.
  • Marketing preferences: your email address if you sign up to our newsletter.
  • Device information: standard technical data collected automatically by Shopify when you browse the site (IP address, browser, pages viewed), used to keep the site working and secure.

How we use it

  • To take payment, make your order and deliver it to you.
  • To talk to you about your order or commission.
  • To send you our newsletter, only if you have asked for it. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
  • To keep the shop secure and to understand how it is used so we can improve it.

Who we share it with

We share information only where it is needed to run the shop: with Shopify, which hosts the store and processes orders; with our payment providers; with Royal Mail and other couriers to deliver your parcel; and with email tools used to send order updates and newsletters. We do not sell your information to anyone.

Photographs you send us

Photographs sent for pet portraits and commissions are used only to make your piece. We will not publish your photographs or the finished commission without asking you first.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for as long as we need them for tax and accounting purposes (normally six years). Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Commission photographs are deleted once the work is complete unless you ask us to keep them for future pieces.

Shopify uses cookies to run the shopping cart, remember your preferences and provide basic analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. To do any of these, email jackfethers19@yahoo.co.uk. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
